    Aon are currently recruiting a Claims Service Adviser to join our National Corporate Claims team based in Glasgow. This is an exciting chance to work with a highly knowledgeable team, managing a portfolio of UK claims, with opportunities to gain experience in all commercial claims areas.

     

    Please note this opportunity is for a part-time member of the team (24 hours per week) on a 1 year fixed term contract.

     

    About the role

     

    As a Claims Service Adviser your key responsibilities will include:

     

    • Managing a diverse portfolio of liability, motor, public liability, property and latent claims
    • Dealing with cases in line with FCA guidelines; relevant pre-action protocols and managing cases within Claims Portal.
    • Establishing relevant coverages and handling within delegated authority end-to-end.
    • Providing expert advice, technical analysis and litigation support to clients to facilitate the settlement of claims.
    • Liaising with a variety of stakeholders and establishing and maintaining key client contacts.
    • Establishing and maintaining electronic claim files; process claims information and co-ordinate internal claims-related activities.
    • Maintaining and reviewing appropriate claims reserves.
    • Responsibility for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and in compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.

     

    About you

     

    Your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

     

    • Previous experience in handling claims across multiple business lines.
    • Law firm (or equivalent) training, or Liability and other claims experience gained within a major Company / Insurer / Syndicate background / Broker.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work in a demanding environment, displaying flexibility and adaptability yet able to work in a structured manner.
    • Excellent negotiation skills.
    • Relevant technical insurance knowledge.
    • Knowledge of the necessity of compliance with FCA regulatory and business procedures, and the ability to adhere to processes.
    • Experience with Microsoft Excel.
