    We’re hiring!

     

    Aon are currently recruiting an Assistant Underwriter for Computer (covering risks associated with computers e.g. loss and damage of equipment, programmes and records) and Contractors Plant (e.g. for loss or damage to owned and / or hired in plant) products. The main objectives of the role are to underwrite business in accordance with delegated underwriting authority, develop excellent working relationship with insurers, promote products and services and work with your wider team to achieve the strategy and business plan.

     

    About the role

     

    Your key responsibilities will include:

     

    Provide quotations for renewals, new business and alterations within delegated underwriting authority and with referral to Senior Underwriter and /or the carrier as required.

    • Maintain relationships with the wider Aon network at Client Service Advisor level, ensuring that acceptable service standards are met.
    • Build relationships with insurers to deliver the underwriting strategy.
    • Maintain a high level of technical knowledge and input into technical and commercial market intelligence.
    • Deputise for the Senior Underwriter as required
    • Work with internal and external parties in the development of the company’s business as directed.

     

    About you

     

    Your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

     

    • Achieved or working towards ACII
    • Proven track record in technical underwriting with a recognised insurer, ideally within property or construction
    • Able to establish and maintain relationships with brokers and carriers
    • Able to work proactively without direct supervision , as well as being a team player
    • Organisational skills, attention to detail and a high professional standard
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    •  Ability to achieve enquiry targets
