    Communications Manager


    We’re hiring!


    Aon are currently recruiting a Communications Manager to join our team in London. The Communications Manager will be primarily responsible for developing and implementing internal and external communications strategies for Aon in the UK.  Part of our UK Communications team, the Manager will work closely with key business leaders and marketing colleagues in the UK and will collaborate with the global Marcomms team.


    You will play a key role within the team to drive internal communications and engagement programmes and campaigns to support our employee experience and to help embed the Aon culture across the firm.  They will also be involved in developing and implementing external communications strategies to drive understanding of our business with our external stakeholder groups, as well as promoting and protecting the Aon brand in the UK.

    Your impact as a Communications Manager:



    • Assess internal and external communications needs, define objectives, identify audiences and develop key messages and narratives.
    • Develop and execute communication plans for business and change initiatives within the UK, including organisational change, regulatory initiatives and M&A activity.
    • Create a wide range of communication tactics and deliverables – including face-to-face engagement, written, video, voice – to engage and inform stakeholders via effective storytelling.
    • Manage proactive media relations, working with external agencies, and reactive media relations, including crisis and reputation management.
    • Executive profiling via proactive media relations, conference participation, speaking opportunities.
    • Contribute to the firm’s social media strategy in the UK, including guidance on content and content creation.
    • Contribute to awards strategy and help create submissions for targeted awards.
    • Support a variety of internal events/ activities both at a country and global level (e.g. Empower Results Days, leadership meetings).
    • Contribute to setting KPIs, overseeing measurement and analysis of results and communicating these results to key stakeholders.
    • Ensure company vision, values, brand positioning and visual identity are reflected in all communication initiatives
    • Responsibility for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.

    Your knowledge and expertise:


    Requirements for the role:


    • Degree OR related work experience in Communications, Journalism, or Business.
    • Exceptional writing and editing skills with proven expertise of different styles to reflect the audience and messages.
    • Experience of implementing communications via a variety of communication channels and technologies.
    • Experience of managing stakeholders upwards and downwards and comfortable acting as a strategic advisor to business leaders.
    • Flexible and happy to adapt to change, as the nature of our work and assignments evolves to meet business needs
    • Proficient in MS Office, key social media platforms. Knowledge of other communications technology/ platforms an advantage.
