    Aon currently have an exciting opportunity to join their London or Chelmsford office as an Underwriter supporting Aon’s Global Broking Centre (GBC). This position is part of the Aon Underwriting Managers (AUM) business, which undertakes underwriting and claims handling services on behalf of insurers and delivers expertise in specific product ranges or trade sectors. AUM focuses on commercial insurance products across Accident and Health, Property and Casualty, Financial Lines and Marine sectors.

     

     

    About the Role

     

    As an Underwriter, your duties will include:

    • Undertaking the underwriting process for a global facility, handling submissions from the Global Broking Centre (GBC).
    • Ensuring that individual risks are bound promptly and in accordance with the delegated underwriting authority.
    • Recording of risks on the Policy Administration System in an accurate and timely fashion.
    • Meeting agreed service standard to bind risks and ensure that the relevant policies are accurate and issued within agreed timescales.
    • Ensuring full compliance with the Delegated Authority from insurers.
    • Building an excellent working relationship with the GBC Team.
    • Building excellent working relationships with supporting insurers.
    • Participate in regular insurer meetings to review progress of the facility

     

    About You

     

    Your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

    • CII or partially CII qualified would be an advantage.
    • Prior underwriting experience.
    • Experience in Financial Services / Professions / Marine Insurance is preferred.           
    • Team player with team-building ability.
    • Good written and oral communication skills.
    • Computer literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Ability to create reports and analyse numerical data.
