    Assistant Company Secretary (London, UK)  

     

    Aon are currently recruiting for an Assistant Company Secretary to join our team in London to assist in the functioning of the Corporate Secretariat so that it provides a comprehensive company secretarial service for the Aon Group of companies in the UK.

     

    As a member of the team your responsibilities are likely to involve:

     

    Board Support

    Acting as Secretary to Boards and / or Board Committees

    Providing guidance and support to the Company Secretary, the Deputy Company Secretary and the Boards of the various subsidiaries in the UK Group in relation to governance and statutory compliance;

    Producing Board and Committee papers as required

    Minuting meetings

    Overseeing the uploading to Diligent of Board and Committee papers

    Seeking efficiencies, consistency and best practice in the running of Boards and Committees across the UK Group

    Assisting with Board / Committee effectiveness reviews

    Contributing to meeting discussions as and when required and advising members of the statutory and governance implications of proposed policies and actions.

     

    Statutory

    Assisting with the production of UK subsidiary Annual Financial Statements, including liaising with colleagues in other functions to finalise these and to deliver an efficient year-end process

    Assisting with the management of statutory compliance across the UK Group including ensuring appropriate record-keeping, reporting and filing and that all applicable statutory filings are made

    Assisting with the maintenance of all UK entity statutory registers using predominantly Blueprint but also other applications such as excel spreadsheets, Diligent, Secretariat and SharePoint; and

    assisting with the ongoing maintenance of company licenses and the timely renewal of these.

     

    Other

    Attending to day to day issues as required, including the provision of information regarding companies in the UK Group, execution of corporate representative documentation and searches for subsidiaries, the drafting and issue of powers of attorney and the notarization of documentation

     

    Your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

     

    Associate Member of ICSA or equivalent

    Experience within a company secretarial department, preferably gained within the insurance/financial services sector. 

    Accuracy and attention to detail

    Strong communication skills

    Confidence to liaise with board level executives and senior management across the Business

    Ability to work both as a team player and individually

    Good organisational and line management skills

    Discretion when handling confidential information

    Able to meet multiple deadlines
