    Interim Senior Legal Advisor

    Aon are currently recruiting a Interim Senior Legal Advisor to join our team in London. The Interim Senior Legal Advisor will be primarily responsible for providing commercial legal advice and drafting to facilitate the development and conclusion of commercial relationships with the full range of external parties Aon interacts with including clients, insurers, suppliers of services, third party introducers and other brokers. Contracts will include binding authority agreements with insurers, product/facility agreements with insurers, terms of business and terms of engagement with clients, NDAs, sub- and co-broker agreements and outsourcing and other agreements with suppliers.

     

    This role works with Aon Risk businesses in the UK dealing with insurance and reinsurance broking, risk consulting and analytics, captive management and insurance-linked securities.

     

    The Senior Legal Advisor Role may act as point of contact or secondary point of contact for one or more of Aon’s business units. The Legal Advisor will develop a solid understanding of the commercial and regulatory opportunities and challenges that Aon’s business units are considering.

     

    The  Senior Legal Adviser will be a member of the Aon UK Shared Services commercial legal team which is co-located in the UK, Warsaw and Ireland. The role is based out of London. There will be daily interaction and interdependence with the team in Warsaw and a clear expectation to make sure that work is there is a seamless integration and provision of legal services across the Aon UK Shared Services commercial legal team.

    About the Role

     

    Your impact as a Interim Senior Legal Advisor:

    • Responsible for commercial legal advice and contract drafting to Aon business units in the UK (including obtaining necessary regulatory input from Compliance and / or external legal advisors where appropriate).
    • Provision of commercial legal advice on UK issues to Aon businesses overseas, where required.
    • Working together with business units and other support functions (in particular -Compliance) to ensure legal risk is managed appropriately.
    • Supporting your other colleagues (UK and Warsaw-based) in their general commercial work.
    • Responsibility for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.

    About you

     

    Your knowledge and expertise:

    • Solicitor or barrister qualified in UK (or other common law jurisdiction).
    • Strong interpersonal skills and a talent for relationship development and stakeholder management.
    • Ability to advise on multiple commercial legal issues.
    • Flexible and pragmatic – able to take a commercial approach.
    • Highly collaborative.
    • Capable of working on complex commercial contracts with minimal support.
    • Exposure to the UK financial regulatory environment.
