    Aon are currently recruiting a Technology Business Partner to join our team in London. The Technology Business Partner will be primarily responsible for facing off to distinct business areas, acting as their partner when it comes to technology focus. Liaising at all levels of business, building agile partnerships, converting business strategy and ideas into well thought-out, logical deliverables. Understanding business, UK and global IT strategy and ensuring engagement within the business units are aligned within these frameworks.

    About the Role


    As a Technology Business Partner some of your key responsibilities will involve:


    Key responsibilities:


    • Provide guidance to the business divisions regarding efficient management of IT assets and associated costs, driving optimal RTB spend, monitoring and managing spend, and driving year-on-year savings where possible
    • Working with senior business stakeholders to ensure all CTB requests have a supporting business case and are aligned to local and global strategies. Represent IT on the relevant governance groups.
    • Manage the relationship between 3rd party suppliers, internal technology teams and the business units in respect of operational, service delivery, application support, infrastructure support, application developments and infrastructure projects.
    • Perform the role of Technology Partner to the business units, addressing concerns and ensuring service improvements are initiated as appropriate
    • Understand the business units background, structure and priorities and ensure that the correct focus is applied by other members of the UK IT team and its suppliers.
    • Take accountability for business unit specific commercial negotiations in relation to IT matters. Be the accountable person for strategic supplier performance and governance.
    • Be aware of emerging technologies, both internally with Aon, and externally in the industry
    • Be the business’s trusted advisor in all aspects of the IT provision, and act as escalation point for any significant service degradation across the entire IT provision. Ensure action is taken to prevent recurrence of severity outages.
    • Work with the business and IT to ensure business input/processes are in place and understood where needed to meet regulatory requirements. Adhere and evidence compliance in line with the Cobit framework, SOx and FCA requirements.
    • Work across IT teams to ensure an improvement process is in place where service has degraded, and provide feedback on effectiveness of service processes and aid process improvements
    • Act on behalf of the UK businesses to ensure that an effective and efficient service is delivered the business units
    • Be part of the business’s strategic thinking, represent IT on all applicable Operations committees, steering groups and other decision making meetings
    • Understand the business units background, structure and priorities and ensure that the correct focus is applied by other members of the UK IT team and its suppliers.
    • Responsible for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.

    As a Technology Business Partner your skills and qualifications will ideally include:


    Skills and qualifications:

    • Strong experience in IT service management
    • Proven experience in relationship management with senior stakeholders
    • An understanding of IT and insurance market trends
    • Understanding and awareness of project management principles
