Aon are currently recruiting a  HR Business Partner – fixed term contract to join our team in Leeds. A 12 month fixed term contract, in this position, you will partner with a Senior HR Business Partner,  leaders and colleagues within a newly acquired division in ARS to implement HR strategies and actions that attract, retain and develop the talent needed for continued business improvement and growth, initially during an integration period of 12 months but with potential for longer term subject to business requirements.  The HR Business Partner serves as a liaison between the business line and all available HR resources to ensure solutions and services are delivered for more than 400 colleagues across the UK, (majority are based in the north of England).  You will regularly work across a wide range of areas such as colleague relations, change management, performance management, compensation, recruiting, and talent development.  The ability to deeply understand the business practice you are supporting will be critical to your success.  You'll also need strong analytic skills and the ability to translate client business plans and goals into human resource capabilities needed to achieve results.

About the Role

 

As a  HR Business Partner – fixed term contract some of your key responsibilities will involve:

 

Key responsibilities:

 

HR Business Partner

  • Work closely with the Senior HR Business Partner to implement and deliver the HR integration plans following the acquisition, including but not limited to TUPE activities associated with the acquisition
  • Responsible for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company
  • Create trusted relationships with colleagues across your area of responsibility
  • Engage closely with the business teams you support in order to maintain a stable BAU environment and to drive continued improvement profitable growth in line with the business plan

  • Create a cohesive and effective partnership with aligned HR functional leaders and HR support teams in order to ensure excellent HR service delivery for colleagues

  • Support the implementation of the HR strategy for the assigned business unit, including; capability, employee engagement and talent initiatives in order to support the drive of business performance
  • Take ownership of projects as they arise within the business unit and HR.
  • Provide sound advice on all HR issues such as reward, talent, performance, organisation development, change, culture and leadership
  • Identify, develop and successfully deliver client responsive, cost effective and measurable solutions
  • Identify and consider the need for change and facilitate the formulation of change plans from the HR and Business perspective
  • Work closely with Centres of Excellence to proactively identify and influence changes to improve HR service and processes
  • Implement HR processes as defined by the Centres of Excellence
  • Champion Diversity & Inclusion agenda

 

Talent Management and Organisation Development

  • Partner leaders and managers on recruiting, talent development, and retention efforts to ensure we have the human capital needed to improve and grow the business
  • Act as coach and mentor to leaders and high potential colleagues on business opportunities, leading in a professional service organisation, and career progression
  • Work with leaders to ensure performance management is being effectively employed in support of our high performance culture
  • Work closely with the Talent Development function on initiatives that support colleague development

Change Agent

  • Educate and influence leaders to adapt quickly to organisational and market shifts in direction
  • Determine business implications and partner with leaders on communication and execution of outcomes needed to adjust to the desired state
  • Deliver comprehensive change management plans to support TUPE activities and the roll out of HR and business initiatives – coach leaders on effective change techniques
  • Responsible for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company

Education:

 

Graduate calibre

 

Professional:

 

CIPD qualified or relevant experience to demonstrate level of competence

 

Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

  • HR experience (generalist, specialist, and in client-facing roles preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to consult, influence, and partner with senior leaders in developing and executing people strategies to drive business performance
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills at all levels of the organisation
  • Strong business management, commercial and financial acumen
  • Experience managing projects and working in a matrix organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex HR issues
  • Ability to consult on the application of HR policy and processes
  • Ability to facilitate talent development sessions for all levels of the organisation
  • Experience in Organisational Design and creating High Performing Organisations in a changine environment
  • Strong demonstrable knowledge of Inclusion and Diversity Programmes
  • Demonstrable knowledge of TUPE regulations and previous TUPE experience
