Aon are currently recruiting a Technician to join our Product Recall Team within the Global Broking Centre in London. 


The primary purposes of the this role is to provide full operational support to broking/client team and proactively assisting in the day to day running of clients risks and insurance programmes and to support and lead any change of process and practices (particularly technology changes – Brokasure).

About the Role


As a Technician (Product Recall) some of your key responsibilities will involve:


Core functional activity:

  • File maintenance - ECM
  • Review draft / final MRC
  • Scan / index final agreed slip
  • Complete quote/firm order information in Brokasure including finalise MRC
  • Review / enhance risk data in Brokasure
  • Provide invoicing instructions

Secondary functional activity:

  • Review / Create / Enhance Submission
  • Respond to A/c queries

Occasional functional activity:

  • Establish and manage pipeline
  • Send initial engagement to client/network
  • Send Cover confirmation to client/network
  • Firm Order broking (Ebix / wet stamps / email)
  • Issue invoice to client
  • Create BID documentation if required
  • Create bespoke wordings / clauses (per client)
  • Provide technical training / guidance to colleagues
  • Coaching and mentoring



Facility Management

Structured Portfolio Solutions Business Planning

Bordereaux management and reconciliation (monthly)

Liaison with Insurers on any issues

Structured Portfolio Soultions Sharepoint register – monthly reporting (required by Central Broking Team)

Liaison with off shore bordereaux team that produce premium bordereaux but not risk bordereaux

Team Budget Sheet

Budget sheet maintenance and reporting

Fielding any queries from management

Team Accounting

Working with offshore on multiple accounting issues

Consultant liaison (payments for pre-incident funds)

Insurer liaison (overdue payments / NOC’s)

Liaison for late payments with offshore and network office

Credit control dashboard

Monitoring payments

Tax Allocation

Global programme tax allocation – reviewing client turnover spreadsheets, interpreting / analysing and working with clients to get allocations correct; TMF entry; liaison with Insurers for agreement

AIF Sytem for Team

For all Canadian placements

Assisting Broker/s with:

QDR’s for US accounts

Endorsement production

Certificate of insurance production

Handle delegated network queries

Pipiline Management for Team

Maintenance of system

Liaison with Compliance

Clikview / Lifecycle  reports (quotes, firm orders, invoices) – monthly

Various management reports

Responsibility for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.


About you


As a Technician (Product Recall) your skills and qualifications will ideally include:


Strong mathematical skills

Advanced excel spreadsheet skills

Computer science background would be advantageous

Willingness and ability to learn product recall wording construction / development

Excellent understanding of London insurance market dynamics and core processes

Excellent technical insurance knowledge

Ability to use insurance industry IT systems to efficiently deliver client service

Experience of managing effective client relationships

Good analytical and problem solving skills

Excellent interpersonal skills

High level of numeracy

Effective communication and presentation skills

Excellent understanding and application of compliance and FCA regulation

Ability to work well as part of a team

Demonstrate integrity and professionalism
