Aon are currently recruiting a Intercompany Accountant to join our team in Chelmsford. The Intercompany Accountant will be primarily responsible for owning the monthly Trade Intercompany reporting process and driving Working Capital improvements across the UK.

 

The individual will also partner with the Intercompany Tower in Poland and UK Controllership on intercompany trade out of balance escalation; reporting and ownership of the UK monthly trade and fiduciary intercompany positions, resolving settlement mismatches, and supporting change programs/projects.

 

This position will partner with finance and business areas to drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact global and local financial reporting.

About the Role

 

As a Intercompany Accountant some of your key responsibilities will involve:

 

1. Takes accountability for the overall Intercompany Trade out of balance positions within UK

  • Escalation point and accounting advisory for Intercompany Tower during close related to UK out of balances.
  • Lead global communications and resolution support for UK on out of balance resolution.
  • Support global requirements gathering to drive towards continuous process efficiencies and improvements.

2. Lead Working Capital improvement programs across the UK

  • Partnering with Operational and Financial colleagues to ensure accountability and ownership to deliver upon targets.  
  • Issuing results on a monthly basis to ARS UK Management and discussing same.
  • Leading quarterly WC progress meetings and providing insight into progress to date and risks/opportunities.
  • Oversee the investigation and implementation of Controllership related working capital initiatives for both Trade and Operating.

3. As a member of the Fiduciary Accounting team

  • Maintain  a thorough understanding of Aon UK Limited’s broking systems and their interaction with the Data Warehouse and associated Qlikview dashboards.
  • Develop an understanding of the link between Client Money, working capital and the Company’s broking systems and how these are reported on an intercompany basis.
  • Build up knowledge of the FCAs CASS5 Client Money rules and assist on Client Money matters where the opportunity arises.

4. Liaise with cross functional teams including Legal, Tax, Compliance and Treasury.
5. Perform other duties as required.
6. Responsible for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.

 

About you

 

As a Intercompany Accountant your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

 

Education/Skill Requirements           

  • University Degree (preferably in numerate discipline) and 3-5 years of relevant work experience. Project management experience preferred

  • Demonstrates excellent problem solving, decision making, and analytic skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels within the corporation and various business units.
  • Excellent verbal, written, computer, financial data, internal consulting, and customer-focused communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects with an ability to work under pressure to meet specific deadlines.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills  & Well-experienced with remaining Microsoft suite of Office products.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, ability to multi-task with specific attention to detail.
