Aon are currently recruiting a Senior Counsel – Corporate Transactions to join our team in London. The Senior Counsel – Corporate Transactions will be primarily responsible for legal matters in connection with the negotiation of key supplier contracts (with a value of £250k or greater) and management of legal risk embedded within such supplier contracts. Aon has a spend of over $620m in EMEA and $266m in the UK alone and the successful candidate will work alongside Aon’s global spend management function and other key stakeholders in providing effective legal and execution support to Aon’s ‘buy-desk’.  In addition, the Senior Counsel will from time to time be called upon to support mergers & acquisitions, capital markets transactions, internal reorganizations and other corporate law matters.

About the Role

 

As a Senior Counsel – Corporate Transactions some of your key responsibilities will involve:

 

Skills and qualifications:

  • Solicitor or barrister qualified in UK or other common law jurisdiction
  • Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience
  • Law firm experience highly preferred
  • Ability to advise on commercial legal issues at a high level, dealing with senior stakeholders and taking a strategic approach
  • Previous exposure to the UK financial regulatory environment
  • Self- starter capable of handling a multitude of issues at any one time
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent teamplayer
  • Responsible for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.
