Aon are currently recruiting a Project Manager to join our team in Manchester. The Project Manager will be primarily responsible for providing the highest level of project management support ensuring that project deliverables and required outcome are achieved.

About the Role

As a Project Manager some of your key responsibilities will involve:

  • Design and plan innovative, bespoke marketing collateral
    • Plan, manage and measure marketing campaigns both area specific and supporting national campaigns  
    • Design, plan and manage events (both client and internal)
    • Design and manage innovative and meaningful interactions with clients and prospects  
    • Manage and measure client and prospect engagement
  • Communicate with Clients/Prospects as appropriate for their needs
    • Develop understanding of Client/Prospect’s business including financial performance, objectives, market perception, products and services, management structure, and key personnel
    • Manage the service provided by the Project Team to the internal customer, take appropriate and timely remedial action where necessary
    • Be responsible within the project team for the production of reports and presentations as required
    • Manage customer’s expectations, keeping them informed of progress of agreed tasks
    • Liaise with other divisions within Aon on behalf of project team
    • Develop project team’s knowledge through coaching and development of project team personnel
    • Assist the nominated Client Manager develop SoSA and appropriate fees for prospects, including using the Aon Pricing System
    • Ensure a structured disciplined hand-over of new business from the project team to the Client Service team
    • Placement and broking of Prospect/Client insurances as required by Client Management
    • Provide renewal support to client service teams where required by Client Management
    • Ensure that projects are run in accordance with appropriate quality system
    • Support Business Development Managers and Client Mangers pre and post mandate
  • Identify and introduce Aon’s products and services to meet Client’s needs
    • Communicate Client and industry knowledge to project team, other parts of Aon and Insurers as appropriate
    • Ensure that each Client’s / Prospects risks are identified and appropriate risk and insurance solutions proposed
    • Help develop innovative risk and insurance solutions utilising the other Aon divisions
    • Participate in internal meetings including pre-renewal strategy meetings as appropriate
    • Facilitate introductions to other Aon divisions
    • Assist in choosing the most appropriate service team for the Client in conjunction with project sponsor
  • Represent Aon, and specifically Corporate to Clients and Prospects
    • Identify the key decision makers within a Client/Prospect for all services that can be offered by Aon
    • Facilitate and help develop relationships between key decision-makers and Aon personnel.
    • Influence key decision makers to purchase Aon services
  • Additional responsibility for some Client Project Managers only - as required
    • Negotiate terms and cover with insurance market
    • Undertake negotiations with holding and potential insurers using the support of placing brokers and branch broking managers where appropriate/applicable in accordance with the Broking Strategy
    • Inform Clients that appropriate cover has been placed
    • Differentiate where appropriate with the Client cover service and industry knowledge that a specific Insurer could deliver to them
    • Establish and develop good working relationships with Insurers
  • Responsible for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.

About you

As a Project Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include;

  • Insurance industry experience
  • Technical cross-class commercial insurance knowledge
  • Knowledge of Aon Bid Management methodologies desirable not essential
  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent desirable not essential
  • Project Management experience
  • Analysis and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication, including report writing and presentations
