McLagan are currently recruiting a Reward / Compensation Regulations Manager to join our consulting practice in London supporting banking and asset management clients. The Reward / Compensation Regulations Manager will be primarily responsible for working alongside Partners and Senior Consultants providing guidance to clients on all relevant remuneration regulations including CRD IV, AIFMD, UCITS V, MiFID II and Solvency II.

About the Role


This role will act as both an internal technical expert, responsible for monitoring developments in remuneration regulations and educating consultants accordingly, as well as working on consulting engagements advising clients on the assessment, design and operation of compensation plans.


Client work will include interacting with various teams in clients’ businesses including: Compensation & Benefits/Reward, HR, Finance, Legal, Compliance and Risk.


Candidates must possess a detailed understanding of relevant remuneration regulations (as listed above) and have experience of advising on their application and implementation. This experience may have been gained through an in-house Reward, consulting or legal background.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a deep technical understanding of the remuneration regulation landscape to work with a wide range of clients in putting that knowledge into practice as part of a wide range of consulting engagements.


In this role you will be responsible for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.


About you


As a Reward / Compensation Regulations Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Detailed understanding of the remuneration regulations, their background, application and likely future development (including CRD IV, AIFMD, UCITS V, MiFID II, Solvency II)
  • Sound understanding of the financial services sector, the current challenges and outlook
  • A good understanding of compensation approaches across the financial services sector and the issues affecting reward structures
  • Likely have a supervisory/mentoring role. Would be a person that more junior staff can learn from and takes a proactive role in sharing experience and expertise
  • Good communication skills – both written and face-to-face, ability to simplify and summarise complex information based on client needs
  • Able to manage stakeholder requirements and expectations
  • Comfortable in prioritising tasks and managing multiple initiatives
  • Degree qualified
  • Fluent English is a prerequisite – both written and verbal
  • Other language skills would be an advantage
